Line In Recording

Recording with your line in port can be great to record the output of various devices such as a tape machine or a CD player to record albums. It is not recommended if you want to record music with instruments such as guitars and keyboards. For this you will need a high end sound card which can capture the audio signal in the best way possible. Typically, when connecting a device to your line in port you will need an RCA to stereo cable – which is available at any hardware store. You will also need software such as Audacity (free; can be downloaded online) which can record and export your audio.
